Striking Leica R4s camera made in Germany in the 1980s. With instructions in Spanish. This camera is in excellent condition and works wonderfully; it can be used to take the best photographs. The camera is protected by its original black leather case, also in optimal condition, and boasts a sober and nice black design. Its serial number is 1687122. The camera comes with an original vintage lens manufactured by the same company, Enrst Leitz GmbH from Wetzlar (Germany). The Leica R cameras (from R4 to R7) were manufactured from 1980 to 1996 in cooperation with Minolta. The camera that we can see in the images is a Leica R4s. It has subtle though relevant differences with the R4. These differences could be resumed in the following sentence: the R4 is a more versatile camera, while the R4s has a more manual working. They are solid and light cameras, but also reliable and compact. Curiously enough, these cameras can work with and without batteries. In this case, the camera mounts a Summicron F:50 mm / 1:2 lens made in 1980 and with serial number 3233384.The story of these cameras starts with the Leica R3, a very successful model that favored the continuation of the series that the German firm designed with Minolta. These cameras were inspired in the Minolta XD-7, but Leica introduced features such as the mirror box, exposure metering and a newly designed body. The R4 is quite smaller than its predecessor and also lighter than all earlier Leica SLR (single lens reflex) cameras. This model started being produced in 1980 and was a lower cost model compared with former Leica cameras. All the units were assembled by the Leica factory in Portugal. This great camera is a versatile and charming model that will delight any lover of photographic art.
