This singular vintage camera, full of charm and decorative power, is an antique piece made in Germany circa 1920. The camera does not work but its good condition and nice design turn it into a highly attractive piece, perfect to be shown in the most complete collection of photographic material. On the other hand, this piece boasts an interesting design developed by F. Deckel brand from Munich. This company was highly relevant in the history of photo cameras.F. Deckel was founded in 1903 by the mechanical Friedrich Deckel and the inventor Christian Bruns. In the beginning its name was Bruns&Deckel, but it changed it when in 1905 Burs left the company. Their most relevant development was the Compur leaf shutter, whose excellent design turned the factory into the leading maker of this kind of pieces. The firm made machine-tools and injection pumps, and in 1952 it had 3000 employees. In 1994 it ended in bankruptcy. This model has logically a COMPUR-RAPID shutter whose name we can read engraved in the piece, around the lens. The manufacturers name, F. Deckel Munchen, is also engraved in the same placer. The camera mounts a Schneider-Kreuznach lens with serial number 567927. The shutter bears also its own serial number: 50322034. The camera is in general good condition, though it shows some signs of the trace of time and use that undoubtedly provide it with an authentic and charming feel. The most ambitious collection of vintage cameras will not be complete without a piece like this, a historic camera with a powerful look.Measurements: Width: 13 cm/5.1 in.
