This great camera is a real Leica, more precisely a Leica IIIb made in Germany in 1939-40. This camera is in almost mint condition, with only slight signs of its long life and intense use that in no way interfere with its attractive look or great working order.The Leica IIIB camera was an upgrade of its immediate predecessor, the Leica IIIa. Among the differences that we can find in the two models, we can highlight the position of the viewfinder and rangefinder eyepiece: on the IIIb are quite close while on the IIIa they are separated by a few millimeters. This means that the rangefinder is moved to a different location in the cameras body, under the rewind knob.This particular camera bears the serial number 326211 engraved at the top, together with the manufacturers name and the classic Leica logo.The camera mounts a Summar f=5 1:2 lens with serial number 388074. It is a screw-mount lens, typical of this kind of cameras, and bears the manufacturers name (Ernst Leitz Wetlzar) printed at the front too. It is in good condition and works very well. The camera comes in its original dark reddish brown case with the hanging strap.
