Great Leica III camera made in 1934. This camera was manufactured in Germany by the prestigious optical and photographic material manufacturer Ernst Leitz from Wetzlar. In fact, the name Leica is composed of the first letter of the words Leitz Camera. This piece is in strikingly good condition, almost mint, and works like new. The camera is ready for use. It has been revised adjusted and cleaned by a professional. Cleaning alone cost 135 euros (see attached photo). The camera comes in its original dark brown leather case, also very well preserved. The cameras metal body shows almost imperceptible signs of the trace of time that testify for the authenticity and the past of this nice article. The Leica III, was a camera that Ernst Leitz Wetlzar launched in 1933. It is a rangefinder camera that was produced in parallel with the Leica II series. Over the years (until 1960) different versions of the Leica III were launched, all of them with significant improvements when compared with former versions. The camera we can see in these images was the first of the III series: it is a highly interesting article because of its good performance and ancient age, and in spite of being a vintage item it still works perfectly. As it is usual in all Leica cameras, at the top of the metal body we can see a series of data about the camera and the manufactured, engraved in the metal and painted black. We can see the brand logo, the manufacturers name and the serial number Nr. 129236. The camera has an original screw-mount Leitz Elmar 1:3,5 f=50 lens with the engraved serial number 183856.This vintage Leica III camera is a collectors piece and a reliable camera with an excellent performance. It will be a great acquisition for any self-respected photographer.
