This simple and beautiful folding camera draws out attention for its stylized design, quite simple and functional. It is a Kodak Jiffy V.E. camera made by the American manufacturer in the 1930-40s. The camera is made of black bakelite, with a polished and even surface with almost no signs of the trace of time. The rest of the component parts are made of silvery metal except for the bellows, made of black faux leather and in excellent condition, and the glass optical components. The Kodak Jiffy V.P. (standing for Vest Pocket, the place where the camera could be stored in because of its narrow size) was a popular portable folding camera that Kodak manufactured between 1935 and 1943. It was an evolved design of the Vest Pocket Kodak introduced in 1912 and very popular with soldiers in World War I. The camera was designed by Walter Dorwin Teague, an industrial designer who was responsible for many Kodak models. The Kodak Jiffy V.E. is a 127 film camera, much more compact that the earlier 620 film Jiffy Six-20. As we can see in these images, this camera is extremely simple and functional. It mounts a Doublet FixFocus lens that lets the user take photos of objects located at a distance of 2.5 m to infinity. It also has an everset shutter with a single 1/30 speed. On one side of the camera we can see a metal plate that lets us open the case and bears the engraved models name, country and manufacturer. Inside the case, the typical Kodak label indicates the film this camera must be used with and also the patent list and the cameras serial number: NO. 54414. Its great design, so contemporary and simple, turns this camera into an essential piece for any collector, Measurements: Width: 2.1 in /5.5 cm. Height: 5.5 in / 14 cm.
