This amazing antique folding camera is a very attractive and original model because of its small size and beautiful design. Is an Autographic Kodak Vest Pocket Model B, the model that came after the first Kodak Vest Pocket introduced in 1912. The name Vest Pocket refers to the cameras small size that lets its owner carry it in his or her clothes. The camera comes with a metal pencil that can be stored in two rings attached to the lens. This pencil is designed to write notes onto the paper backing of the special 127 film through a small window located at the back of the case. These cameras are known as autographic cameras. Kodak Vest Pocket cameras were introduced in 1912. They were also known as the Soldiers cameras as they were popular with the ones taking part in World Wat I. In 1915 some models were enhanced with the metal pen and started being known as Autographic; this was designed by Henry J. Gaisman. The Vest Pocket Model B camera was also considered a ladies camera, as it small size made it possible to carry it into the handbag. This particular camera has a black faux-leather covered case; the bellows is made of the same material. The mobile parts are made of silvery metal, in very good condition; as a matter of fact, the camera works perfectly with 127 film. The lens bears a series of engraved inscriptions: MADE IN CANADA BY CANADIAN KODAK CO. LIMITED TORONTO ONT., and the serial number 22115. We can also read the cameras name and model. The shutter is a rotating piece with four positions (from 1 to 4) that correspond approximately to f/11, f/16, f/22 and f/32 speeds and can be selected by moving a cogwheel located on one side. Its many details, together with its excellent condition and working order, turn this beautiful folding camera into a real collectors piece. Measurements: Width: 2.5 in / 6.5 cm.
