Stunning field or bellows camera more than one hundred years old, made in France in the late 19th century. The camera is in great condition and preserves all its original component parts and pieces. It remains in working order too thought it has not been tested. The cameras body is made of solid walnut wood: it is composed of multiple rectangular pieces connected. The wood is in good condition and preserves the original finish. The brass metalwork is also in wonderful condition. The camera can be opened and unfolded in order to extend the inner bellows, designed to focus the lens by looking through the rear translucent glass. Made of black fabric and red leather, the bellows is in amazing condition with no torn o worn parts. The glass is original from the period and remains intact; it still shows the lines that help the photographer frame the images. The lens that comes with the camera bears the engraved inscription Rectiligne Rapide GUY VOLT, corresponding to the objective type and the manufacturers name. The lens preserves the original protecting lid too. All the brass pieces and component parts boast an amazing condition: the metal looks even, shiny and polish with scarcely any signs of wear. One of the brass pieces bears the engraved manufacturers name: an acronym with some letters that look like a J and a P, together with the words CONSTRS. (constructeurs, manufacturers in French) DEPOSÉ. This wonderful antique bellows camera keeps all the charm of the first turn-of-the-century photo cameras.
