Stereo Viewer made in the early 20th century (circa 1910) to watch big size glass plates of 9x15 cm format. This rare item is a very interesting piece for any collector, as it is not usual to find viewers for such big glass plates. The device is in good condition and, except for the dent that we can see in one of the baquelite eyepieces, is quite well preserved. It works perfectly. The item is a solid wooden box made up by pieces of two different species: a golden yellow wood and a darker reddish one. It comes with a wooden box designed to store the glass plates, made of solid mahogany wood and with delicate artisanal dovetail joints. This box has a top lid and inside we can see some grooves designed for the plates to be safely organized, so they cannot be broken or damaged. The viewer, as stated before, is made of light golden wood with a mahogany top lid. The lid shows a small flaw in one of its corners, but otherwise it is in good condition. It is connected to the lid by a long hinge that lets the user open it.The eyepieces are made of black baquelite and one of them shows a light crack that in no way prevent the user watch the plates. On one side the device has two pinions designed to adjust the users view: one of them modifies the depth and the other lets the user separate the eyepieces so he or she can adjust them to his or her own eyes. At the front the viewer keeps the original frame with the translucent plate that lets in the light needed to watch the images. This striking vintage viewer will let its owner watch big plates, being also an article worthy of the best collector.
