Fantastic Leica Model III F. Manufactured in Germany in 1955. It is a 100% original piece. Beautiful aesthetically, in silver metal with black leather protector, practically new. Brand engraved on the top: Leica and serial number: 798644. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Summar F=5 cm 1:2 lens from 1935 No. 268458. It is in perfect condition both aesthetically and functionally. The chrome plating is shiny even in the most worn areas. The camera body is also impeccable despite the time elapsed. Attached brown leather case with the brand of the machine in perfect condition, almost like new. This camera works, although it has not been serviced with film. The German camera brand Leica began producing these fantastic devices as early as 1913. The company, first called Ernst Leitz GmbH, was divided into three companies: Leica Camera AG, producing cameras; Leica Geosystems AG, producing equipment for geology; and Leica Microsystems GmbH, in charge of the production of microscopes. The Leica camera was the first practical 35-millimeter model of photographic camera. The first prototypes were built by Oskar Barnack at E. Leitz Optische Werke, Wetzlar, in 1913. The camera was an immediate success when it was introduced in 1925 in Leipzig, dubbed the Leica I (for LEI-tz CA-mera). The compactness of the camera, and its reliable and excellent lens, made this device a real success. The Leica IIIf was launched in 1950. It has the particularity of having numbers from 1 to 20 under the shutter disc. These numbers were engraved in Black on the first model, but were painted in Red on the later model. Therefore they are called "Synchro Black" model and "Synchro Red" model. The innovative self-timer was applied to the final model of the III F in 1954. This model was a great success and continued to be manufactured after 1957, when the 3M model had already been released, being even copied by Japanese models.
