Fantastic Leica IC Camera. Made in Germany in 1951. Aesthetically beautiful, in silver metal with black leather protector, practically new. Engraved mark on the top: Leica and serial number: 561986. According to this serial number it would be a Leica IC, which was probably modified by Leica at some later time. Ernst Leitz Wetzlar Elmar f = 5cm 1:3.5 lens. It is in perfect condition, both aesthetically and functionally. The camera's chrome plating is shiny, even in the areas of heaviest wear. Attached are several very important accessories for a good use of the camera: Elmar lens cap 5cm, 9cm and 13.5 cm, yellow filter for capping, B+W 19 E 010 1x filter, shutter release with cable, Sixtomat Electronic Photometer with batteries... The camera body is also impeccable, in spite of the time elapsed, with very few signs of use. Attached brown leather case with the brand of the machine in perfect condition, almost like new. The lens shows some dust particles between the lenses, but no scratches or fungus. The German camera brand started producing these fantastic devices as early as 1913. The company, first called Ernst Leitz GmbH, was divided into three companies: Leica Camera AG, which produced cameras; Leica Geosystems AG, which produced equipment for geology; and Leica Microsystems GmbH, which produced microscopes. The Leica camera was the first practical model of a 35 millimeter camera. The first prototypes were built by Oskar Barnack at E. Leitz Optische Werke, Wetzlar, in 1913. The Leica camera was an immediate success when it was introduced in 1925 in Leipzig, named Leica I (for LEI-tz CA-mera). The compactness of the camera, and its reliable and excellent lens, made this device a real success. The Leica Ic is generally considered a technical camera for scientific work made from 1950 onwards. This version has the beautifully crafted 'Sharkskin' cover that protects the machinery and makes it more attractive, used mostly on the Ic, Iic, and IIIC models. The Leica IC is a version of the Leica IIIc, stripped of the viewfinder, rangefinder and low speed, by Leitz for special needs, such as scientific photography, wide-angle or telephoto photography. The Leica IC should not be confused with the Leica C or Leica I , often called "Leica I ©". Very beautiful camera aesthetically as well as functional, which makes it a perfect piece.
