German Kodak film projector from the mid 20th century. It is a collectors piece, very special and a hundred per cent original. The projector is in very good condition and even keeps its original wire. This piece is in working order though it needs to be adjusted as it works a little slowly. It is a Kodakskop Model 44, made by prestigious Kodak brand. This company manufactures optical instruments and cameras, and was founded in 1888 by George Eastmann. He revolutionized the market launching the first small domestic camera, easy to use for everybody. Under the slogan Press a button, we do the rest, Kodak started in the end of the 19th century and has survived to our days as one of the leader multinational brands of the world. This attractive projector is made of iron painted in a nice golden brown color with a hammer effect finish. The reel, the knobs, the gears and the lens are made of silvery metal and look as shiny and polished as new. The reel is located on top and it bears two engraved inscriptions: KODAK AG. - BERLIN STUTTGART and KODAKSKOP ACHT SPULE. These last words indicate that the reel is designed to contain 8 mm film (acth means eight and spule means reel). The projectors lens (magnification 1:16) also bears the word KODAK engraved. This item keeps the original strap which communicates the reel with the motor and makes it spin. On one side of the projector and just under the lens there are two metal plates attached with screws. They bear different inscriptions and switches. The bigger one, on the side, provides the name and model of the article 8 (Kodakskop Acht Mod 44), the voltage and the watts of the motor. It also has two switches to turn the lamp and the motor on and off, and a bakelite knob which lets the user speed up or slow down the projection. At the front, just under the lens, there is another switch to choose between two voltages: 110 and 220 V. All in all, the projector is in good condition and preserves all its vintage attractive, as well as its functionality. It is a real collectors item for cinema lovers and fans of the most charming antique pieces. Measurements: 310 mm width x 325 mm height.
