Antique Educa stereoscope made in France circa 1930, in outstanding condition and perfect working order. The stereoscope is complete and comes with the 42 original photographic plates showing iconic monuments and places all over the country. These devices were mainly used to show these places to school students, hence their name Educa. They were specifically manufactured for the French educational system by A. Mattey from Paris (which operated under the trade name Unis France). The stereoscope that we can see in the images remains very well preserved, with the original antique lenses and all its component parts in great condition. The stereoscopes case is made of light-colored walnut wood, with a fine satin finish that reminds us of waxs soft texture. The eyepieces are made of black bakelite; over them there is a small golden brass plate with the engraved inscription EDUCA APPAREIL ET PROCEDE. At the casings base there is an ample compartment designed to store the plates well organized. In order to view them, the plates must be mounted in a wooden frame which will be inserted into the top groove. The monuments will be seen in three dimensions thanks to a curious optical effect. Fascinating and decorative, this antique Educa stereoscope will stand out in any room providing a different and original touch. Measurements: Width: 11 in / 8 cm. Height: 17.7 in 45 cm.
