This curious instrument is a pocket photometer, a light-measuring device for photographic use made in Germany in the 1940-50s. The photometer comes in its original protecting case and has survived to our days in great condition. The device is in excellent working order too and mounts a cylindrical silvery-metal body which contains another metal cylinder. The outer piece bears a series of printed instructions, measurements and indications in German, needed for the correct use of the photometer. The narrower cylinder bears a black bakelite eyepiece at the end, designed to put the eye to it and verify the light and the measurements. The photometer lens is the original one and remains in good condition. As for the casing, it is a leather hand-stitched sleeve composed of the casing itself and a cap. It is also in quite condition. Every lover of antique photography will appreciate the charm and functionality of this antique pocket photometer, still in working order. Measurements: Length: 3.5 in / 9 cm.
