Iconic Leica IIf Red Dial camera made in Germany in 1954. This camera comes with its original black leather sleeve and carrying strap and is really good condition. The only piece missing is one of the decorative parts attached to the case, but this is a minimum detail which does not interfere at all in the cameras operation. The camera is in working condition even though it has not been tested with film. We would recommend cleaning for 100% perfect operation. In any case, as it is, it seems to work well. It comes with a complete accessory set including a foldable tripod (extensible up to 45.3 in / 115 cm), an original Leica lens hood and a universal VIOOH viewer. The camera mounts a Leitz Elmar f=5 cm 1:3,5 objective. At the top of the cameras casing we can see the serial number Nº 681817 engraved in the metal surface. The Leica IIf model replaced the former Leica IIc in 1951 with only minor improvements. In 1952 Leica IIIf was launched, one of the most famous Leica cameras. The letter F stands for flash synchronization. The Red Dial name indicates that the flash synchronization numerals located beside the speed numerals are painted red. This is a relevant detail as Red Dial cameras mount a better shutter than Black Dial models and are better valued. On the other hand, the camera that we can see in the images shows off an excellent condition and is as attractive as original. All collectors of iconic photo cameras will see a real find in this Leica IIf Red Dial camera, a quality piece that preserves all its potential.
