Beautiful antique field bellows camera with solid-wooden box, dated circa 1890 and probably made in Germany. The camera is a very singular piece, big in size (fully opened reaches a length of 48 centimeters) and in excellent condition. Though being more than one hundred years old, the camera is complete and boasts a wonderful look, almost like new. It preserves all its original component parts and pieces, including a rare objective and a plate charge. This camera could even be used to take photographs on glass plates. The camera box is made of solid-mahogany wood, with a lovely golden reddish color. The wood is wonderfully preserved and so is the lovely French-polish finish that protects it and makes it shiny. The bellows is original from the time and is also greatly preserved, showing no worn or torn parts. At the front side the camera mounts an antique and rare brass objective with the engraved inscription Goerz C.P. Doppel-Anastigmat Serie III 180 cm, with its original dark-red leather lid and the serial number Nº 94801. The camera box mounts several brass component parts: fasteners, hinges, tyrants, focusing screws All of them remain in great condition and fulfill their duty perfectly. At the back side of the camera we can see the original translucent glass. The camera comes with an ancient mahogany wooden plate charger, also in fine condition.
