Antique Field Camera. Bückler lens. Circa 1900

Antique field camera with rare Bückler Rapid Rectilinear ojective made circa 1900 and in very good condition. This camera is designed to be used with 8x13 cm glass plates and has survived to our days as finely preserved as we can see in the images. The camera is complete and mounts quite a rare objective, a Rapid Rectilinear model made by Bückler. Rapid Rectilinear (RR) objectives were launched by Dallmeyer in 1866 and are composed of a pair of cemented doublets. The one mounted in this camera is made of brass and bears the engraved inscription inscripción Rapid Rectilinear BUCKLER 8 x 5 LONDON, together with the serial number Nº 7908. This is a very rare device and remains in fine working order. The cameras body is made up of a different solid-mahogany wooden pieces connected by brass metalwork, screws and hinges. The wood is in amazing condition, with no broken or missing parts. It preserves the original French-polish finish that provides it with a fine satin glow and enhances the woods gorgeous reddish color. The bellows is also original and remains in good condition, showing no torn parts or light leaks. It is made of two different materials, greyish blue and black, a feature that provides the camera with a very decorative quality. The camera includes an original plate charge with an old-time smoked-glass plate in perfect condition. The charger is designed to capture images on 8x13 cm glass plates. The glass is mounted on a black-painted wooden frame which is connected to the charger by hinges. At the top of the charger we can see a brass handle designed to remove it easily. All the details that make up this antique field camera with rare Bückler Rapid Rectilinear objective turn it into the ideal piece to be included of a good collection.
