Antique Unis France mechanical stereoscope for 6x13 plates with 24 old-time photographs. This device was made in France circa 1910 and is in fine condition, so it can be used to watch the plates. The stereoscope is a solid-beech wooden box with a rear gap. This gap is closed by the original smoked glass plate that allows light to enter. One of the glass corners shows a slight flaw which in no way interferes with the good visualization of the images. The stereoscope mounts two lenses with black-lacquered wooden eyepieces and a depth-adjustment mechanism. The photo collection was intended for private use; it is composed of images of parades, landscapes and charming places in black and white and sepia-colored tones. This antique Unis France mechanical stereoscope for 6x13 plates with 24 photographs is a witness of past times, which has survived to our days to become part of a good collection.
