Antique Box Photo Camera. Circa 1920

Antique box photo camera made circa 1920 and in good condition. The camera is a wooden box covered outside in black leather, with original leather handle at the top, ancient lenses and metalwork. It is complete and in working order. The outer lining shows slight signs of wear at the corners, logical considering the camera is nearly one century old. Inside the wood is painted black, the finish remaining in excellent condition. Box cameras were really popular at the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Their mechanism is simple: they mount a front meniscus lens which catches light and magnifies the image. This is directly printed in the plate or film located inside the box.
