Antique Victor II Type M Gramophone-Phonograph. USA, 1907

This spectacular Victor II Type M trumpet gramophone, manufactured around 1907, is a true gem of its era, combining history, style, and functionality. This classic model has been meticulously cared for, with its motor in optimal condition following a thorough revision. The reproducer, an original EXHIBITION model, has been updated with new gaskets, ensuring an excellent sound quality that will surprise even the most discerning listeners. However, the piece retains all its authenticity by keeping the original parts and components, such as the trumpet's paint and the platter's felt. The latter, though showing signs of use, remains functional and highlights the item's age. If desired, the felt can be replaced with a new green one, though the beauty of the piece lies in its original state.

The oak wood cabinet, a fine representation of the neoclassical style with its fluted columns, has been professionally restored, bringing back its original shine and color. Every detail has been carefully treated to preserve the gramophone's historical character, from the robust structure to the delicate wood finishes. On the front, a stylish metal plaque features the brand’s emblem: a dog listening to the gramophone, Victor’s iconic symbol. The model, Type Vic II, and serial number 81307 are also displayed. Additionally, an original paper label with patent details is preserved on the base, an authentic testament to its history. Inside the gramophone, an illustration in English details the motor parts, a fascinating curiosity for lovers of old technology.

The black trumpet, with gold ribbing, retains its original decal in good condition, enhancing its value as a collectible piece. It is important to note that the end of the trumpet, where it connects to the machine’s elbow, bears the model’s patent inscription, dated October 1906. This detail, often overlooked, demonstrates the gramophone’s authenticity and historical value. The rear support, decorated with fine gold filigree on a black background, is also in excellent condition, preserving the piece's original splendor. All these original elements and well-preserved details make this gramophone a true work of art that stands out not only for its functionality but also for its aesthetic beauty.

This antique Victor II Type M gramophone, in addition to working perfectly, is an impressive piece that will stand out in any distinguished living room or high-quality antique collection. Its mix of aesthetic beauty and functionality makes it a true treasure from the past that promises to attract attention and appreciation. Not only is it a decorative item, but its immersive sound transports the listener to past times, making it a unique sensory experience. History of Victor Talking Machine Co.

The Victor Talking Machine Company was one of the most influential and respected companies in the history of sound technology, established in 1901 by Eldridge R. Johnson in Camden, New Jersey. Its iconic logo of the dog Nipper listening to a gramophone with the phrase "His Master's Voice" became one of the most recognized symbols worldwide. Victor stood out not only for the quality of its gramophones but also for its technological innovations, such as the incorporation of better motors and reproduction systems that raised industry standards. In the early 20th century, the company led the gramophone market, solidifying its reputation for producing durable products with great sound quality.

The Victor II model with all its versions was one of the most popular, manufactured during the early 1900s. These gramophones were appreciated not only for their functionality but also for their aesthetic design, making them true decorative furniture pieces in the most elegant homes. During the 1920s, Victor expanded its product line to include electric gramophones and recordings before being absorbed by the Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in 1929, marking the end of an era for traditional mechanical gramophones.
