Beautiful antique mantel pendulum clock and candelabra set, made in France in the 19th century and in fine condition. The clock has wind-up 7-day Paris movement signed by Hapy Freres and striking the hours and the halves. The set exudes delicacy – the porcelain is painted by hand with bucolic scenes and stylish Pompeiian-style motifs, and makes a perfect match with the robust feel and the warm glow of the bronze. The clock is the main piece, with magenta porcelain dial, Louis XV gilt hands, Roman numerals and a central landscape with birds, all of them painted by hand by a talented artist. Under the dial we can see a porcelain plate with a scene depicting a woman dressed in the classical wat, sitting in a country background. In front of the base, a third plate with a hand-painted Pompeiian-style motif adds interest to the piece. The clock’s box shows a fine classic-inspired design with elaborate scrolls, garland-shaped ring handles and a crowning vase-shaped pece. Inside, the movement bears the engraved number 658 and the Hapy Freres mark.

The candelabra which flank the clock stand out for its fine and stylized design. Over the square foot, the vase-shaped magenta porcelain parts are decorated with a small turquoise and gold motif. The two symmetrical curved arms create a lovely filigree, crowned by a third candleholder and a pineapple-shaped piece similar to that of the clock. Just like this, they are finely preserved and stand out as very decorative elements.
