Great Cross of the Order of Military Merit, White Distinction and miniature: a historic medal awarded during the period of Franco, in Spain, in very good condition. This fine piece has a golden metal base with a white-enameled cross in the center. Over the cross there is a circular metal plate with the symbols of Castile and Leon in white, red, gold and navy-blue enamel. Surrounding the cross, the corners are adorned with rusted-silver metal details shaped like the mentioned symbols: two castles and two rampant lions. The cross comes with a similar miniature, smaller in size. In this case, the medal hangs from a white silk ribbon with a narrow red stripe in the center. This superb Great Cross of the Order of Military Merit and with miniature is a very valuable piece for any collector of high-level militaria.
