Plate of the Order of Military Merit Red Distinctive made by Castells, in its storing case and original from the time of the Spanish king Alphonse 13th (circa 1915). This gorgeous medal was once awarded to General Manuel Manso Rozas and it is in really good condition. The plate is made of gilt and white silver and is shaped as a cross, with a circular shield inside and a fine decoration in white, gold, red and navy blue enamel. The enamels are greatly preserved and display bright colors, showing no flaws or traces of wear. Between the crosss arms there are four fleur-de-lys, symbol of the House of Borbon-Anjou whose coat of arms can be seen in the center of the circle. At the back of the plate we can see the manufacturers name, Castells-Barcelona, together with their shield and some prizes. The storing case is dark red and has black velvet and purple satin inner linings. The purple one bears the printed manufacturers name in golden lettering. This imposing Plate to the Military Merit Red Distinctive is a real collectors item, very beautiful and entirely original. Dimensions: 30.14 in / 80 mm.
