Amazing Pickelhaube helmet for the Mounted Police Corps of Barcelona, made in Spain circa 1940 and in excellent condition. This is a gala helmet used by the agents of the city mounted police, with matt black body and a greatly preserved black leather peak. The helmet is profusely decorated with silvery metal appliqués, all of them with no traces of rust or wear. The front side is adorned with the city’s coat of arms, with two rampant dragons at both sides. Under this detail, a silvery chain covers the edge; one of its ends reaches the rear side of the helmet. The edge is reinforced by a metal plate. The top metal spike is similar to those in German Pickelhaube helmets and has a small hole to host a plume of white feathers. Inside the helmet preserves the original leather covering, complete and in good condition too.
