Antique Polyphon Music Box with 15 Disks. Switzerland, 19th Century

Antique Polyphon music box with 15 disks, made in Switzerland in the 19th century and in very good condition and working order. This is an entirely original piece, with a complete mechanism and a greatly preserved comb. The box is made of mahogany wood and has embedded elements at the top which enhance the woods beauty. At one side, the box has a groove for the speed regulator; this element makes it possible to control the mechanisms advance. This is made of brass and bears the POLYPHON brand name at the right, in big embossed lettering. To the left we can see the comb and the reel. Inside the lid we find a big colorful poster in amazing condition, with a number of cherubs playing different instruments in a fantastic landscape. At the top we see again the Polyphon name in black lettering. This antique Polyphon music box with 15 disks is a piece which combines a remarkable decorative power with a beautiful old-time sound.
