Hugo Öfverström (1900-1972) is an important painter of the modern Sweden school, who is noted for its personal style and masterful works. Born in Kungalv (Sweden), a place close to Gothenburg, he belonged to a family closed related to art and crafts for generations. Öfverström inherited his ancestors talent and showed it in his pictorial works and also in other crafts such as furniture decoration. The painter studied at The Valand School of Fine Arts under the guidance of the well-known Swedish painter Birger Simonsson.
