Complete set of 16 Autochrome Stereoviews made in the early 20th century, developed on glass and colored by hand. The set comes with one slightly damaged piece as a gift, so, in total there are 17. The Autochrome Stereoviews are stereo glass plates colored by an ingenious artisanal process, invented by the Lumière Brothers and patented in 1903. This system made it possible to achieve the only color photographs available in those times. The set is composed of 16 plates that depict different spots in France, mainly gardens and floral compositions. The plates are charming pieces with quite a realistic color, unique pieces impossible to reproduce. All the plates bear their corresponding sticker with a handwritten description of the depicted place and the date of taking. As authentic as beautiful, this antique Autochrome Stereoviews are unique pieces with a very special attractive. Measurements: 60 x 130 mm.
