Lot of 200 Stereoscopic Plates taken in the 1st World War. France, 1914-18

Awesome set of 200 stereoscopic glass plates with images taken during World War I. The plates are in excellent condition and come carefully stored in a lightwood case with the original hinges and handle. The case is also well preserved and is perfect to organize and store the plates. The images depict different moments and sceneries of the content they show soldiers in trenches or posing with their weapons, carriages full of armament, ruined cities, corpses in the battlefield The scenes are often chilling and reflect the terrible reality of that known as The Great War. All the plates are properly labeled with French descriptions that explain what is taking place in each one. Many of them bear the date of taking too. As overwhelming as nostalgic, these stereoscopic plates are a real treasure for any collector. Measurements: 60 x 130 mm.
