24 Stereoscopic Plates of WWI. France, 1914-1918 (45x130)

Historic set of 24 black and white and sepia-toned stereoscopic plates. The set contains unique images that depict moments of the content and some of the places where the battles took place. The plates are labeled with the names of the different spots and some of them bear indications of what is happening in the photographs. Some photographs were labeled on the negative while others bear titles and descriptions written directly on the glass. The photos show images of the soldiers that took part in the battles and also of the artillery, ruined buildings, battlefields, prisoners and even corpses. Because all of these reasons, this collection is undoubtedly a highly interesting and quality document. Evocative and overwhelming, these images of World War I show the content with all its harsh reality and make up a real museum piece. Medidas: 107 x 45 mm.
