Interesting set of 19 black and white and sepia-toned stereoviews, designed to be watched in a stereoscopic viewer. The plates are quite well preserved in spite of being so fragile and show the images in a clear and neat way. They depict moments, characters and sceneries of World War I that reveal in all its harshness the horror and the desolation of the content. The photographs show razed fields, ruins, prisoner camps, soldiers, cemeteries and city sights. They all portray perfectly the terrible war and the soldiers and citizens living conditions. So for their quality and authenticity, these plates are worthy of a European history museum. As real as impressive, these stereo plates taken during World War I deserve to be included in a great collection or historical archive. Measurements: 107 x 45 mm.
