Fine vintage 18K gold Nicolet 'N' pocket watch with 5-minute repeater, made in Switzerland circa 1960. Though it is not an antique piece, its design is clearly inspired in that of turn-of-the-century watches. The white dial has a crowned N at the 12 position and the manufacturing company’s name, NICOLET WATCH, at the 6 position. This was a Swiss company, active from 1888 to 1977, when it merged with another brand, to disappear in the 1980s. The crowned "N" brand was marketed during the 1960s. The case is made of 18K gold and has hallmarks in the front and rear caps. They are both decorated with shields flanked by scrolls which make it possible to engrave initials or dedications. The dial has Breguet black hands and Arabic numerals, as well as a central window which let us see the movement. This can be easily reached by lifting the rear cap so its beautiful design can be admired.
