Antique English Duplex Pocket Watch for the Chinese Market. Silver. Circa 1800

Awesome antique pocket watch for the Chinese market, made of silver and dated circa 1800. This amazing watch is a true collector’s piece, both for its ancient age and its good working order. The silver case mounts a front glass cap, under which we can see the white dial with black ‘pear’ hands and central secondary hand. The rear cap bears no decoration at all; inside we find the hallmarks, the initials LER and a mark with Chinese ideograms. Under it, the dustcap is composed of an engraved silver border and a glass pane. The movement is gorgeous: it has duplex escapement and shows a profuse hand-engraved scroll decoration which covers all its component parts.

This striking antique pocket watch for the Chinese market, with silver casing and in working order, is a piece worthy of the most demanding collector.
