Amazing Antique Verge-Fusee Pocket Watch. Silver. 62 mm. Milden, Liverpool, UK, 1835
Amazing antique silver verge-fusee pocket watch, 62 mm width, signed by Milden, Liverpool, UK and made in 1835. This is beautiful item, with double casing and a gorgeous engraved decoration. The outer case is made of silver-plated metal, with its rear side covered of fine embossed and engraved floral motifs. The front side has a glass pane which let us see the fine white-porcelain dial, with a gilt applique and enameled black Arab numerals. It mounts gilt-metal ‘poire’ (pear) hands and has the word LIVERPOOL at the 6 position. The inner case is made of gilt silver – inside the rear cap we can see some hallmarks corresponding to London and the year 1835. The movement is beautiful too and is signed by hand by Milden, Liverpool, an English watchmaker who lived and worked in the early 19th century. The watch comes with a key, not the original one but perfectly functional.
This amazing antique silver verge-fusee pocket watch is a real jewel for its delicate decoration, fine design and good working order.
