Antique Verge-Fusee Pocket Watch. Double Silver Casing. Charles Cabrier III. London, 1792
Antique verge-fusee pocket watch with double silver casing, made by Charles Cabrier III in London in 1792 and in fine condition. Though being more than two centuries old, it works well and is still a fully functional item. Both the dial and the movement are signed by Charles Cabrier, son and grandson of two prestigious watchmakers with the same name. So this watch was made by Charles Cabrier III, born in 1729 and who kept on with the family business. This is a very stylish piece, with double silver casing and several hallmarks in both cases. The dial is white, with black Roman numerals and fassonzeiger cobalt-blue metal hands. It has the name CABRIER at the 12 position and the word LONDON at the 6 position. Inside both cases we find a hallmark which indicates that the watch was made in 1792, together with the serial number 26146. The gorgeous and complex movement bears the watchmaker’s name and address engraved by hand, together with the serial number stated before.
This antique verge-fusee pocket watch with double silver casing, made by Charles Cabrier III, is an exclusive piece worthy to become part of the best collection.
