Gorgeous Antique Paul Jeannot 18k Gold Pocket Watch. Switzerland, Circa 1880
Gorgeous antique Paul Jeannot pocket watch in 18K gold, manufactured in Switzerland in 1880 and in awesome condition and working order. This beautiful timepiece, sturdy and robust, is a real art piece with three gold caps, the front one decorated with a hand-engraved shield containing the monogram of a former owner. It is signed in the dial, the movement and the rear cap. Both the front cap and the rear cap bear guilloche decoration in fine condition. Inside both caps we can see the 18K-gold mark and an engraved number, 1441. The dial is very beautiful, it is silver and gold, has black Roman numerals, black 'poire' hands and the name Paul Jeannot Genéve at the 12 o'clock position. The dustcap is made of gold too, though it has no hallmarks. It has a hand-engraved inscription stating the movement contains 15 rubies and the watch’s serial number, 5863. Under it we find another glass cap which provides the movement with further protection. At the movement we can see again the watchmaker’s name and the serial number, engraved by hand.
