Antique Fortunato & Irmao 18K gold pocket watch, with quarter repeater, made in Switzerland around 1890, in excellent condition and working order and for the Spanish and Portuguese market. This is a complex and delicate piece, with 28-rubies movement and inner glass cap. The case is made of 18K gold, with the hallmark and the umber 2337 engraved in the rear cap and the dustcap. Being a lepine watch, the front cover is made of gold and crystal. and lets us see the white dial, with black Roman numerals and stylish Breget gilt hands. The rear cap bears guilloche decoration with non-engraved central shield. Under it, the dustcap shows a series of fine hand-engraved inscriptions with information about the movement and the name FORTUNATO E IRMAO, which could be the name of the original distributor. The movement is finely preserved, protected by an additional glass cap.
