Rare antique sidearm for the administrative corps of the French army, made in France circa 1860. This attractive sidearm is amazingly preserved: the steel blade shows off a slight antique patina abd is in fine condition, while the hilt is complete and well preserved. The blade bears two engraved marks just under the cross-guard: on one side we can read the word Klingenthal, and on the other, the inscription Coulaux a&c. The hilt is composed of a brass cross-guard with ball-shaped ends, black wooden tapered grip and brass pommel. For its simple design, sober look and good condition, this antique sidearm for the administrative corps of the French army is a piece worthy of being exhibited. Dimensions: Blade Length: 26.77 in / 55 cm. Total length: 21.65 in / 68 cm.
