Antique Mounted-Hunter's Saber Sword M. 1790. French Revolution, c. 1790
Antique mounted-hunter’s saber-sword model 1790 from the French Revolution, made in France circa 1790 and in good condition. This weapon is entirely original and authentic except for the twine, which has been replaced with the trace of time. The rest of the parts and pieces are finely preserved, from the brass and wooden grip to the stylized steel blade. The scabbard is original too, made of black leather and with polished brass metalwork. The leather is quite worn because of the trace of time and the use, but currently the scabbard is still complete and fulfills its protecting duty. The brass hilt is simple and attractive, with the cross-guard and the guard making up an only piece and solid-wooden grip. At the scabbard and the saber’s hilt, the brass looks shiny and polished, remaining in amazing condition. The steel blade is very well preserved; the beautiful patina provided by the trace of time enhances its great look.
This antique mounted-hunter’s sabber, model 1790 and from the French Revolution, is a historic piece worthy to belong to the best collection of weapons.
