Antique French Office Switchboard. 1930s

Amazing antique French office switchboard made in the 1930s, in very good condition and with the original ancient wiring. This piece, singular and highly decorative, is nearly 90 years old and was once used at an office to establish internal communications between departments. The switchboard (also known as call center) preserves the original wiring in amazing condition, complete and perfectly connected. It is possible to reach it by lifting the casing, which is connected to the solid wooden base by metal hinges. The casing is made of well-preserved pinewood, covered outside by thin oak wooden planks. These planks make up a fine design which stands out mainly for the beautiful golden color and deep veneer of the wood. At each side of the switchboard we can the communication component parts, the handset and the microphone. They are made of black Bakelite and metal, and keep the original cords in fine condition. At the front side of the machine we can see a riveted plate with the serial number Nº 10373 engraved in the metal.
