Wonderful and very rare antique military field telegraph, manufactured by the St. N. T. Ss. FABRIK of KJOVENHAVN (Store Nordiske Telegrafselskab Fabrik, Copenhagen, Denmark), circa 1900 and in spectacular condition. The telegraph preserves all its original component parts, boasting a beautiful design and an uncommon charm. The printer and the key are in fine working order: the electric system has not been tested, but the wiring is in amazing condition so it could work well too. All the mechanism is mounted on solid mahogany planks, greatly preserved and fine-looking. The planks are connected by long hinges which can be folded to create a compact storing case. The lock-and-key set which locks the planks is original and in good working order. When the case is locked, at its front side we can see the original handle. It is a beautiful black metal design, discreet and functional. It is solidly screwed to the wood and remains in excellent condition. In order to mount the telegraph again, the user must only open the lock, unfold the planks and connect the telegraphic wires to the top plugs. The central brass piece bears an engraved mark with the inscription St.N.T.Ss. FABRIK KJOVENHAVN and the serial number Nº 29836. The key bears its own serial number too, engraved by hand: Nº 29946. This very rare antique military field telegraph is an item as special as it is attractive, which will delight the finest collectors. Dimensions (Closed): Width: 7.87 in / 22 cm.
