Exceptional collection of one hundred and sixty five photographs which belongs to La Vanguardia newspapers graphic work. These photographs were located on the front and back covers of a series of newspaper which were published during the Spanish Civil War. In those days, newspapers only bore photographs on the covers (and in some cases, on the central double page spread), and it was the custom to collect and publish them under the name of graphic work. In this particular case, the images reflect events that took place in the Spanish Civil War, more specifically in the Republican Front line. The covers show the newspapers name, the date of publishing and a description of the photographed facts. So this way we can see pictures of women from Madrid fighting against the fascism, the bombing of Palma of Mallorca, the battle in the center front lines, the Front of Aragon And a lot more photographs that help us know how things were during those tragic events. These are war images, in which we can see the army and the soldiers in the middle of the battle. Life in the different military corps is perfectly reflected, and so are the disasters caused by war actions and the weapons that were used. Overall, this is a great set of completely original pictures, a unique testimony of those terrible days that the Civil War brought to Spain, and which with the trace of time has become a highly relevant piece which any lover of contemporary history will be proud to own.
