This solid calculating machine is a Triumphator CN1, a vintage calculator made in the 1950s by a company whose prestige was established during the 20th century. The calculator is in very good condition and works like new, fluidly and softly. It was a very popular model that was launched in different finishes: black-lacquered, like the one we can see in these images, and also covered in green hammered enamel and even glossy red. This calculator, just like the vast majority of the ones manufactured at the time, is based in the pinwheel system developed by Odher in 1873. The black frame and the lacquered metal sheet are well preserved and the enamel is regular and even, with shiny red, white and green numbers.Triumpathor-Werke was a company founded in 1900 to manufacture Odhner system calculators. Together with Odhner and Brunsviga, it was one of the most relevant manufacturers in the field. The first calculators commercialized by Triumphator were the A and B models. After II Word War the company was taken over by the East Germany government and kept on manufacturing calculating machines until 1965. This particular calculator has a sticker at the back that testifies for this fact, with the initials DDS (standing for the German translation of Democratic Republic of Germany) printed on it.Beside the sticker we can see the serial number 169320 engraved in the metal. At the front, to the left of the digit levers we can see the logo with the market name TRIUMPHATOR engraved in the metal sheet and painted white. The calculator keeps all its original mobile parts in great condition: the rods with the metal pointers, the levers, the cranks and the bakelite handles and knobs. They can all be operated easily and smoothly, and it is a real pleasure to perform arithmetic operations with this calculator. Those who can appreciate vintage and charming machines will be delighted by this Triumphator calculator, a highly decorative and fully functional item.Measurements: Width: 340 mm.
