Great French Vaucanson calculator made in Paris in 1936. This is a classic model that exudes vintage charm, perfect to decorate a smart desk or to become part of a good collection of antique calculating machines. The calculator works perfectly and can perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) just like the first day of use. The calculator keeps all its original component parts that provide a soft and fluid operation. The calculator that we can see in these images is made of black-enameled iron and brass, boasting the classic design of vintage machines from the first half of the 20th century. It has pinwheel system, with levers to mark the digits and cranks to obtain the results. This piece is in good condition though the black finish is somewhat worn in some points. Nevertheless, the machine keeps all its beauty and functionality: this signs of wear are just a testimony of its past.At the top of the calculator we can see the manufacturers name, ATELIERS VAUCANSON PARIS, and the model: TYPE AVA 13 engraved in the metal and painted in white. To the left of the digits there is another white inscription with the original diagonal logo, while on the right bottom corner we can read the words ONIS FRANCE. Last but not least, at the back of the machine there is an engraved inscription with the serial number 13505. We are looking at a lovely collectors piece, a vintage calculator in perfect working order and with a great decorative power.
