This small and smart piece is an Addi 7 adding machine, a simple and functional device designed to add and subtract quantities. As we can see in these photos, the machine is in quite good condition and it also works like the first day of use. It boasts a highly charming design, typical of the time when it was made: the 1920s. This adding machine comes from Germany and keeps all its original component parts. Their easy and fluid operation turns this machines use into a real pleasure for any collector.The Addi 7 is a model created and commercialized by Lipsia (Leipzig, Germany) as an improved adding machine base in former designs. The company was founded in 1914 and opened branches in other countries. The Addi 7 was a very popular design that was also produced in printing version. The piece we can see in these images is a pinwheel adding machine with black-enameled metal sheet body and remarkable cylindrical levers made of red and yellow baquelite.The numbers are engraved in the metal and painted in red and white enamel. Under them we can see an oval containing the models name, Addi 7, engraved in the metal and painted white. The key located beside this logo, to the left, bears the inscription SUBT. This word indicates that the adding machine can also perform subtractions. At the bottom lay the boxes for the result that we can obtain by turning the crank located to the right. If we turn the machine upside down, at the base we will find the serial number 31480 engraved in the iron plate.Whoever likes vintage machines will discover that this Addi 7 adding machine is an authentic and charming piece for his or her collection.Measurements: Width: 5.5 cm/3.7 in.
