Attractive Triumphator model CRN windlass calculator, with black enamel casing and one hundred percent original. This machine dates from the 1950s and was manufactured in Germany by the company of the same name. The calculator is in very good aesthetic condition but does not work, so it is a decorative piece. On the front of the machine, to the left of the digits, we can see the famous TRIUMPHATOR brand logo and the model name, CRN. This brand was one of the three manufacturers of windlass calculators that led the market in the first half of the 20th century. The company was founded in Leipzig in 1900 to manufacture suction tubes. With the arrival of Otto Holzapfel, a mechanic from Brunsviga, they started to produce reel calculators based on the system invented by Odher. After World War II, the East German government took control of the factory, which closed its doors in 1965.The CRN model, which we can see in these photos, remained in production throughout the 1950's. Its design is solid and discreet, with white and red numerals standing out against the black enamel background. On this calculator, the exterior is in very good condition and so is the mechanism: the parts show hardly any traces of rust. On the base of the calculator we can see a yellow label with the serial number handwritten in blue ink: 154197.This 1950s calculator will be the perfect gift for a lover of mechanics and parts with history.
