Fine vintage Triumphator H pin-wheel calculator made in Germany in the 1920s. This calculating machine boasts a classic design that joins a great functionality with a decorative look. The piece is in very good condition, especially if we consider that it is almost one hundred years old. It works wonderfully and can be used to perform the four basic arithmetical operations. The mobile parts work fluidly and softly, letting the user enjoy its manipulation. On the metal case, to the left we can see the engraved and white-enameled market name Triumphator.Triumphator was one of the tree world-famous companies that manufactured pin-wheel calculators during the first half of the 20th century. The firm started in 1900 as a vacuum-tube company. In 1904 a mechanic from Brunsviga entered the company and they started producing calculators. Among other innovations, their machines introduced new features such as the 10s-carry mechanism that let the user perform faster multiplication. The company experienced underwent many vicissitudes during the 20th century and in 1965 the production came to an end.This calculator has a black-enameled metal sheet case with white numbers and inscriptions. The black finish is greatly preserved and so are the levers, screws and cranks made of silvery metal. The machine stands on a solid oak wooden plank, wide and robust, with grooved edges. The wood keeps the original finish and is in good condition. On the calculators front right corner we can see the manufacturers name, TRIUMPHATOR WERK, engraved in the metal and painted white. The name is also printed on the back, into a big label with an antique etching depicting the factory.This vintage calculators functionality and fine design turn it into a high-quality and attractive piece that any collector will long to own.
