Fantastic vintage calculator made of metal, with wooden base and original metal cover. The calculator is a Trinks-Brunsviga, as we can see printed in gold letters on the beautiful metal cover that protects the machine. It is almost a museum piece due to its age and its excellent state of preservation: the calculator works perfectly and allows to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) with all the efficiency guaranteed by machines with a winding system. In addition to retaining the original base and cover, this calculator is presented with its original lock and key in perfect working condition.Brunsviga calculators were first produced when the German company Grimme, Natalis & Co. of Braunschweig acquired the patent rights to Odhner arithmometers in 1892. The name Brunsviga is simply the Latin translation of the place name of the town where the factory was established. The brand became the generic name of the company in 1927, when it was renamed Brunsviga Maschinenwerke AG. In this particular calculator we can see the trademark associated with the name Trinks: it corresponds to the surname of Franz Trinks, an engineer who was fundamental in the development of the company and who designed all the improvements and innovations of the Brunsviga calculators until 1927.The beautiful calculator shown in the pictures has a black enameled metal case, with numbers and inscriptions engraved on the sheet metal and painted in white. On the top of the machine, above the levers with the digits we can see the inscription TRINKS-BRUNSVIGA. On the left is the serial number of the calculator: Nº 33807. To the left of the levers is engraved the logo of the manufacturing firm, with its initials printed and the word PATENT above it. The machine sits on a solid oak board with milled edges, elegant and well preserved. This base also serves to adjust the original sheet metal cover, enameled in black and with the name of the calculator printed in beautiful large gold lettering. The superb condition and working order of this calculator, as well as its antique and beautiful design, make it a must-have for the finest collection.
