This extremely beautiful pinwheel calculator is a quite elegant and antique machine, made in Germany in 1905. With more than hundred years behind, this calculator is a charming and historic piece. It is a Triumphator Model A, a simple and functional design that even today works perfectly and lets the user perform the four basic arithmetic operations. The machine has been thoroughly restored and both the black-enameled metal case and the solid wooden base glow in all splendor. At the front of the piece, to the left of the digit levers we can see the market name Triumphator printed in white in its classic lettering. Together with Brunsviga and Odhner, Triumphator was one of the three most important and successful pinwheel calculator manufacturers of the 20th century. It was founded in 1900 in Lepizig-Lindenau as a vacuum-tube company; in 1904 Otto Holzapfel, a mechanic from Brunsviga, entered the firm and the production of Odnher-system calculating machines starded. The company introduced and made machines with 10s-carry mechanism, in order to perform faster multiplication. Triumphator was a successful and famous manufacturer until 1965, when the production came to an end. This amazing calculating machine draws primarily out attention for its glowing black-lacquered finish, greatly restored and in excellent condition. The mechanism preserves all its original component parts and the calculator stands on a solid mahogany wooden base, sturdy and decorative. At the top of the machine we can see the serial number Nº 1316 clearly engraved and white-enameled. This low number indicates that the calculator is one of the former designs of the company. Its impressive look and the great working order it provides turn this Triumphator calculator into a real museum piece.
