This striking Schubert Rastatt calculator is a fully original piece that comes with its flexible original cover. It is a pinwheel calculating machine made in Germany in the 1950s, in perfect working order. The calculator has survived to our days in good condition, with is classic hammered green-enameled finish and the green bakelite markers very well preserved.mThis machine can perform the four basic arithmetic operation accurately and with exact results; it is a real pleasure to use it because of its fluid operation. At the front of the calculator we can see the engraved logo and brand name, Schubert. Schubert calculators appeared in the market in 1938, designed and produced by Emil Schubert. Schubert was a former Triumphator worker that in 1911 started his own business, launching the famous Thales calculator. In the early 1930s he lost control of his company, but in 1928 he started a new one under his own name. Schubert calculators kept on being produced until the late 1960s. At the back of the machine there is a metal plate with the printed name of the calculator, SCHUBERT RASTATT, and also the engraved model and serial number: MRV 144694. As stated before, the calculator comes with its original protecting cover; it is made of flexible laminated fabric with the same color of the machine. The cover is quite well preserved and bears the Schubert brand logo printed at the front in big red lettering. This mechanical calculator from the 1950s is a real collectors piece, in perfect working order and with a great decorative power.
