Striking Triumphator pinwheel calculator in very good condition and perfect working order. This calculating machine was made in Germany in the 1950s and is model CN1. The calculator shows an excellent condition, with the metal case finished with dark green enamel and the numbers painted in red and white colors. The chromed-metal pointers, bars and mobile pieces are also very well preserved and show no traces of rust or wear. The machine can perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) quickly and efficiently, so it is a real pleasure to operate it. At the front of the calculator, to the left of the digit levers we can see the Triumphator name engraved in the metal and painted white. Triumphator was one of the most powerful pinwheel calculator manufacturers in the world, together with Brunsviga and Odhner. The factory was founded in 1900 to produce vacuum-cleaners but in 1904 Otto Holzapfel (a mechanic from Brunsviga) entered the company and they started making calculators. It was the first company in manufacturing machines with 10s-carry mechanism in order to perform faster multiplication. In 1912 Boleslaus Benas entered the firm as a General Salesman and led it to its definite success. The factory ended production in 1965, after several decades under the control of the East Germanys government. The calculator that we can see in these images boasts a simple, reliable and solid design. It preserves the original legs to provide stability, and the light-brown bakelite knobs. At the back of the machine we can see a beige sticker and the serial number 187746 printed in clear white lettering on the green enamel. The number is followed by the models name, CN1. All these details and the amazing condition it shows turn this calculator into a real collectors piece. Because of its great working order and undeniable charm, this nice pinwheel calculator deserves to be the starring piece of the most interesting collection.
