Antique Mira Visier calculator in amazing condition and working like new. This is a pinwheel calculating machine, a classic design made in the first half of the 20th century. The calculator preserves all its original component parts and works very well, making it possible to perform the four basic arithmetic operations with fully reliable results. At the front side of the machine, the mechanism is covered by a black-enameled metal sheet; on the other hand, the base and the body are made of cast iron with a matt crackled black finish. At the front of the calculator, to the left of the digits we can see the brand name Mira clearly engraved and painted white. Mira calculators were manufactured by the Mira-Rechenmaschinen-Fabrik, Reichenberg, Bohemia. The model that can be seen in the photographs is the Mira Visier, a piece that was produced between the 1930s and 40s. Mira calculators work with the pinwheel system designed by W.T. Odhner in the late 19th century, inspired in its turn in Leibnizs arithmometer. This machine shows the fine design of ancient arithmometers and is similar to the famous Brunsviga, Thales and Triumphator calculators, among others. Its deep black finish and the white and red numbers that stand out on it turn the calculator into a charming and beautiful piece, worthy of a museum of mechanical technology. Because of its elegant design and good working order, this Mira calculator will draw anyones attention in every place.
